1         CO OPTION TO MONKTON PARISH COUNCIL
 
            The Council considered 2 applicants who applied to be cop opted to the Parish Council. It was             unanimously agreed to invite Miss Gilly Brown to join the Council and Members are asked to        formally move a resolution to adopt Miss Brown accordingly.
           
            Gilly to sign Declaration of Acceptance.

4          MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
 
            To approve the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 13 September 2010.
 
5          ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
            To receive any announcements from the Chairman.
 
6          REPORT OF THE CLERK 
 
           The Clerk to report upon any other matters that may have arisen since the despatch of the
           agenda.
 
7          TO RECEIVE A REPORT FROM PC DARREN REED
           
            (i) To report on the on-going problem of the padlock being cut on the Gate at the end of Monkton                   St.
            (ii) To advise on the issue of parked vehicles on the junction of Parsonage Fields and Monkton St.
 
8          MONKTON RECREATION GROUND
 
(i)    Update and summarise the position of the Recreation Ground.
(ii)   To decide how to respond to the rent demand from TDC for period 01.10.10- 31.12.10.(£375).
(iii) Discuss whether Nelson Cricket Club could use Monkton Recreation Ground as their home  
                   venue.
            (iv) Decide whether permission may be given to MYFC to cut 3 small trees down. The trees are                    located near the Pavilion Clubhouse; doing so would allow for more parking in that area.  
 
9          SALT GRITTER
 
            To discuss the purchase of a Salt Gritter. Nick proposes MPC should buy one.
 
10        SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES ACT
 
            To agree to contact the Minister of Decentralization, Greg Clark MP, urging him to ensure the       shortlisted proposals made under this Act are dealt with expeditiously.
            The Act incorporates ideas for Government action and assistance to help reverse community
            decline and to promote local sustainability to benefit Parish Councils in the future.
                       
11        FINANCIAL MATTERS
 
            (a)  To note and agree receipts and payments as listed.  (Appendix A)
           
            (b)  To agree the Annual Christmas Lights Competition. 
                   Cllr John Way has proposed:   1st Prize £45       2nd Prize £35   3rd Prize £25. 
                   John has also offered to judge the Lights during 17th– 24th December inclusively.
           
           (c)  To agree to purchase a Village Christmas Tree in the region of £120.00.
                 To note permission should be obtained from Nick and Jonathon Cole to place the tree in
                 Cole’s Yard. Also, ask Terry Marsh to place and illuminate the tree.
 
           (d) To consider purchasing some new Christmas Tree Lights.
